Reject commercial calls in İYS, on e-Devlet or at iys.org.tr, and complain about calls you didn’t agree to on TİSS within three months. If a caller says they’re police, a soldier or a prosecutor and asks for money or gold, hang up and call 112.

No police officer, prosecutor or bank employee handles your case or your money over the phone. Official notices come by post or in person.

What should I say, and not say?

Say

  • I’ll go to the police station myself.
  • I don’t share passwords or bank details on the phone.
  • Then hang up and call 112 if you’re unsure.

Don’t

  • Don’t hand money or gold to anyone who comes to collect it.
  • Don’t share a bank, email or phone password.
  • Don’t move money “to keep it safe” for the state.
