How do I turn off Live Voicemail on my iPhone?
Open the Settings app, tap Apps, then Phone, and switch off Live Voicemail. While it’s on, your iPhone answers missed calls itself, so they never forward to Vicem.

Turn it off
Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
Tap Apps, then tap Phone.
Switch off Live Voicemail.
Tip: Then tap Call me to test in the Vicem app.
Why it matters
Live Voicemail picks up a missed call on the phone and shows what the caller says. Because the phone answers, your phone company never forwards the call, so Vicem never hears it.
If Silence Unknown Callers is on, Apple sends unknown numbers straight to Live Voicemail without ringing. With Live Voicemail off, those calls follow your forwarding like any other missed call.
When your iPhone is off
Apple’s own guide says calls to an iPhone that is off or out of range go to your phone company’s voicemail. With forwarding on, they go to Vicem instead.
