In four steps

  1. Pick the code. Every call: **21*number#. Only missed calls: **67*number#, **61*number# and **62*number#. Jio: *401* and the number.
  2. Put in the number. An Indian mobile number. Jio’s codes take the 10-digit number without +91.
  3. Press call. Type it on the Phone app’s keypad and press call. Your phone shows a confirmation.
  4. Test it. Call your number from another phone. It should ring on the other number.

On iPhone

  1. Open Settings › Apps › Phone › Call Forwarding.
  2. Turn it on and type the number.
  3. This forwards every call. To forward only missed calls, use the codes above.

On Android

  1. Open the Phone app, tap ⋮ › Settings.
  2. Calls (or Supplementary services) › Call forwarding.
  3. Set “When busy”, “When unanswered” and “When unreachable” to the number.

How to deactivate call forwarding

Dial ##002# and press call to cancel all forwarding (on Jio, *413). To stop just one: ##21# (all calls), ##67# (busy), ##61# (no answer), ##62# (not reachable).

To check, dial *#21#: it shows whether every call is forwarded. *#67#, *#61# or *#62# show the missed-call forwards. These codes only check forwarding; they don’t show whether a phone is hacked.

If your network’s voicemail or missed-call alert service stops after you cancel all forwarding, turn it on again with your network.

Call forwarding not working?

  • Check the number: a 10-digit Indian mobile number. Networks in India forward only to Indian numbers.
  • If you see an error, your plan may not include forwarding: ask your network to turn it on.
  • If voicemail answers first, dial the no-answer code with a ring time: **61*number**20# (20 seconds; networks take 5 to 30, in steps of 5).
  • Forwarding every call overrides the others. Cancel it with ##21#.
