Dentists in the Netherlands. An AI that answers your practice’s phone while you’re with a patient
With a patient in the chair, Vicem answers the calls you miss and takes down what each caller needs.
In the Netherlands, you give out a Vicem number or forward the calls you miss from your own. Callers there usually speak Dutch, and Vicem answers each one in their own language.

What your callers ask
- “Can I come in today? I have a toothache.”
- “Do you take my insurance?”
- “I need to move my appointment.”
- “What are your opening hours?”
How it works in the Netherlands
Give out your Vicem number
Put your Vicem number on your website, card and profiles, and pick up in the app when you want to talk.
Keep your number
Forward the calls you miss to your Vicem number. It’s a US number, so your phone company may charge for each forwarded call.
Callers in the Netherlands usually speak Dutch. Vicem answers each caller in their own language, in any of 37 languages, and says it’s an AI in that language too.
After hours and urgent calls
A broken tooth or a swollen face doesn’t wait for opening hours. Vicem answers at night and on weekends, and when a caller says it’s urgent, it tells you right away.
For a real emergency, you can have Vicem tell callers to hang up and dial 112.
Appointments and requests
Vicem takes the request: the patient’s name, the reason and the times that suit them. You or your team confirm the time; it never promises one on its own.

Hi, this is Sam’s AI. This call is transcribed. How can I help?
- Caller
Hi, I chipped a tooth last night and it really hurts. Can I come in today?
- Vicem
I’m sorry, that sounds painful. I’ll make sure the dentist sees this right away. Can I take your name and the best number to reach you?
- Caller
It’s Maria Lopez. This number is fine.
- Vicem
Thanks, Maria. I’ve marked it urgent and passed it on. You’ll hear back as soon as possible.
